one of the first network meetings in 2003:
At this meeting, Kari was proud to show off a
Special Olympics medal she'd recently earned for tennis. She also
showed us the medals she earned at her first horse show, an activity
she began after one of the Network meetings when she shared that
something new she wanted to try was horseback riding. Janet, a
horse-lover herself, volunteered to take Kari to horseback riding
lessons each week at Little Bit
in Woodinville.
At the August 2003 meeting, Kari decided to invite
Network members to bring their families for a BBQ. Here she is with
her older sister, who is a Network member, brother-in-law, and
niece. During the summer, Kari "babysat" her sister's bunny,
Marshmallow, while her sister's family was traveling abroad.
Kari invited her good friend Adam to be part of
her Network too.
