Do You…
- Have a natural talent for connecting people?
- Enjoy extending hospitality?
- See the “gifts” rather than the “deficits” of others?
- Believe that relationships are essential for a good life?
- Want to help people who are isolated to develop their support
networks?
- Want to be part of a “cutting edge” organization?
Then join us at LifeSPAN!
Among the essential elements of being a successful Facilitator at
LifeSPAN is the ability to engage, listen to, and guide a group of
people that have come together for one purpose: the focus person.
Although the focus of the network is one person, the outcome of the
network depends on all of its members. As a facilitator, being able
to promote individual choices, foster community interaction and
continuously discover common purposes within others allows the
network to thrive. Participating in the group interview will allow
you to learn more about LifeSPAN from current facilitators, the
focus people and their family members.
LifeSPAN currently has openings for part-time personal network
facilitators to:
-
Help an individual with a disability and their family to create
and maintain a social network of community friends.
-
Work with a family and our organization to create a network action
plan that focuses on the hopes and dreams of the individual with a
disability.
Time commitment and training:
Approximately 1 to 6 hours a month.
Approximately $25 an hour.
A one-year commitment is requested.
We currently have several openings for facilitators in Seattle and
Redmond.
